Toledo Museum
Concert Series

The Toledo Museum of Art's
1991/92 Peristyle Series will
open 8 p.m. Nov. 15 with the
Hanover Band conducted by
Roy Goodman. This 18th-
century, 45-member orchestra
from London uses authentic
instruments and period prin-
ciples to perform the music of
the Hanoverian era
(1714-1830).
Single-concert tickets for
the Hanover Band are on sale.

handling fee per ticket order
for mail and telephone orders.
The Hanover Band was
formed in 1980 by principal
cellist and artistic director
Caroline Brown. In founding
the group, one of her major
concerns was to restore the
proper balances within a
classical orchestra in perfor-
ming music of the
Hanoverian era. The ensem-
ble regularly consults
original manuscripts and first
editions of the works they per-
form to replicate music as the
composer would have heard
it.
