Lawrence Allan will be
honored 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at the
19th annual Tam O'Shanter
Country Club Israel Bond
dinner dance.
With "Moon over Jeru-
salem" as the dinner dance
theme for the third successive
year, Mr. Allan will be
presented with Israel's
Jerusalem City of Peace
Award in recognition of his
service to the Jewish com-
munity and the State of
Israel.
Mr. Allan, a Wayne State
University graduate, is presi-
dent of Lawrence Allan, Fine
Jewellers. He is professional-
ly affiliated with a number of
organizations including the
Gemological Institute of
America, Appraisers Associ-
tion of America and the
Michigan Jewellers
Association.
In addition to his efforts on
behalf of Israel's economic
development through State of
Israel Bonds, Mr. Allan is ac-
tive in civic and philanthropic
causes, including City of
Hope, the Anti-Defamation
League, Adat Shalom
Synagogue, Bar-Ilan Univer-
sity and the Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah.

Hears Speaker

Dr. Lawrence Power will be
the speaker at the Southfield
Optimist breakfast 7:30 a.m.
Nov. 19 at Excalibur
Restaurant.
Dr. Power received his
degree in London, Canada,
undertook three years of
graduate medical training in
London, England, then train-
ed in endocrinology and
metabolism at the University
of Michigan.
During the 1970s, Dr. Power
was chief of medicine at
Detroit General Hospital.
