The quartet, Reginald Borik, Matthew Levy, Timothy Miller and Michael Whitcombe, are winners of Musical America's "Out- standing Artists Award" for 1989 and have performed throughout the United States. They are Ann Arbor- based and are University of Michigan graduates who have been together since 1984. Prism features Electronic Wind Controllers which enable them to assume the role of almost any imaginable chamber ensemble, a baroque orchestra, a rock band or a boys choir. Art Association Offers Classes Registration for winter classes at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Association will start Dec. 9 for members and Dec. 16 for non-members. Classes will be offered in pot tery, glass blowing, jewelry, drawing, painting and sculpture. New classes this semester will be collograph and em- bossing and exploring the still life. Workshops will include Japanese papermaking, mat- ting, bookbinding and wearable photographic art. Hope Palmer will conduct a lecture series "Gateway to the 20th Century: Art and Culture in a Changing World." There will be youth classes in all media, for the pre- schooler through high school. This is a pop/rock show with family appeal. The lyrics deal with themes and feelings that concern kids — like going in- to first grade, the park closing down, getting a haircut and celebrating the arrival of Saturday.
