Experts offer the following tips to avoid the holiday "blues:" Try to keep holiday visits short and compact. Don't feel compelled to stay beyond your limit. Keep in mind that older people particularly tire easi- ly and that shorter, pre- arranged visits usually have more quality than those that drag on too long. Keeping in mind that in America our holidays are largely commercial, and com- petition for buying is enhanc- ed, try to avoid gift-buying competition, particularly bet- ween both sets of grand- parents. Parents can set down guidelines and artfuly handle this potentially stressful situation. The holidays can be ex- hausting if you let them be. Adjust your schedule and don't plan too many stops or too much driving or shopping at one time. Try to get in touch with your physical symptoms and recognize your own stress pat- terns, so you can stop the stress cycle. Build into your day some progressive muscular relaxa- tion to keep your stress/ten- sion level under control. Try to take 1/2 hour a day and be good to yourself. Re- juvenate yourself. Exercise if you possibly can. Basically, stress causes the misuse of good energy. Your goal for the holiday season should be not to eliminate all stress but, rather, to handle as much stress as you can and to control the excess. ❑ AM/FM RADIO CAP THE LATEST IN ELECTRONIC WIZARDRY FEATURING... y • LIGHTWEIGHT COTTON TWILL HAT • OFFICIAL TEAM LOGO AND COLORS • CONCEALED AM/FM RADIO WITH TELESCOPING ANTENNA • AAA EVEREADY BATTERIES INCL. „ \ • ONE SIZE FITS ALL 2 • ONE YEAR WARRANTY • PERFECT FOR ATHLETIC EVENTS OR YOUR FAVORITE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY Makes a great Chanukah gift for only $29 .95 plus $4.00 Shipping & Handling DETROIT LIONS AND NFL CAPS AVAILABLE, SPECIFY TEAM WITH YOUR ORDER.
