present photographc images
by Marji Silk Nov. 8-22 at the
gallery.
Marji Silk has received an
award from the Detroit City
Council for her photographic
depictions of positive images
of the city. Her other awards
include a first place in the
1991 international color print
competition. Her work is on
permanent display at Cran-
brook Academy of Art Muse-
um, Detroit Science Center
and Canon House Capitol
Bldg, Washington, D,.C.
Ms. Silk shoots unusual
subject matter like the esca-
lator of the Detroit Science
Center. She seeks to capture
on film the spontaneity and
vitality in her surroundings.
Ms. Silk's work can be view-
ed 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday
through Saturday through
Dec. 20. Ariana Gallery is at
386 E. Maple, 647-6405.
