Shalom Synagogue and Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek will
hold a joint-dinner program 6
p.m. Nov. 18 at Adat Shalom.
Rabbi Efry Spectre, leader
of Adat Shalom, and clinical
social worker Ruby Kushner
will discuss "Ani l'Dodi
v'Dodi Li: Keeping a Mar-
riage Together."
Rabbi Spectre is a member
of the National Rabbinic
Cabinet of the United Jewish
Appeal and a past Midwest
chairman of the National
Rabbinic Cabinet of Israel
Bonds. He is a member of the
Jewish Theological Seminary
Chancellor's Rabbinic Ad-
visory Committee.
Ruby Kushner is a graduate
of Oakland University and
the Wayne State University
School of Social Work. For the
past 14 years she has been in
private clinical practice in
Southfield, specializing in
adolescents, adults and
couples. She has been a
presenter on behalf of Hutzel
Hospital's Women's Resource
Center and works in associa-
tion with the Center for
Chronic Illness and the Clinic
for Sexual Dysfunction.
Currently serving the two
sisterhoods are Adat Shalom
presidents Shelly Newman
and Trudy Weiss and Pro-
gram Vice President Harriet
Mall and Shaarey Zedek
President Faye Ullmann and
Program Vice President Lin-
da Gold. Adat Shalom chair-
men of the dinner are Bever-
ly Yost and Ruthellen Singer.

"Human Sexuality, Beyond

As a University of Michigan
professor with dual appoint-
ments in the schools of nurs-
ing and public health, Dr.
Hacker has been involved in
the study of sexuality since
the late 1960s when she
received her doctorate in
population planning.

Hadassah Nurses Council

Falchuk, national founder
and coordinator of the
Hadassah Nurses Council
movement. She co-founded
the first Hadassah Nurses
Council in Boston in 1989.
