Workshop will take place 7-9
p.m. Nov. 6. This workshop
will teach basic self-defense
and self-protection techniques
to resist physical and sexual
assault. Verbal and physical
techniques will be taught.

Feminist Group and the
Feminist Women's Union.

Economics Writer
At Oakland U.

Joel Bainerman, advocate
for a free market economy in
Israel and a former economics
editor of the The Jerusalem
Post, will speak noon Nov. 11
in the Fireside Lounge, Oak-
land Center. His topic will be
"Is There A Solution to the
Arab-Israeli Conflict?"
Mr. Bainerman's editorials
and analyses of Middle East
political and economic affairs
have appeared in the Wall
Street Journal, the Christian
Science Monitor, the Finan-
cial Times and Newsday. His
visit to Oakland University is
sponsored by the Jewish
Students Organization/Hillel,
and co-sponsored by the eco-
nomics department, the Cam-
pus Information, Programs
and Organizations Office,
Young Republicans, Demo-
crats at O.U., the Honors Col-
lege, the departinent of
sociology and anthropology,
the political science depart-
ment and Phi Sigma Alpha.

OU Group Hears
Interfaith Panel

The Jewish Students
Organization/Hillel will hold
a noontime lunch and learn
discussion on "Interfaith
Relations: Do Our Differences
Make A Difference?" noon
Nov. 7 in the Fireside Lounge,
Oakland Center, Oakland
University.
Panelists will be Tom
Wexelberg-Clouser, executive
director, Jewish Theological
Seminary of America, Cen-
tral States Region; the Rev.
Beverly Tasy, St. Andrew's
Episcopal Church, Pontiac;
and the Rev. Jerry Brzezinski,
Catholic chaplain, St. John
Fisher Chapel, Rochester
Hills. The moderator will be
Eleanor Reynolds, director,
Residence Halls, Oakland
University.
The program is free and
open to the public.
