The owners enjoy the serenity
of the country and the
panoramic view of the lake.

with a lazy Susan table top. "I can
seat 20 to 25 people in here for the
holidays," says the wife.
A crystal mezuzah by Agam bought
in Israel sits on the floating formica
buffet and an Erte print hangs over
it. On the server sit glass candlesticks
and a contemporary silver menorah.
A Peter Max serigraph holds court
above the server.
The black vanity with gold and
silver inlays adds a jewel-like quality
to the luxurious black marble powder
room. "I wanted it to stand out," the
wife explained. "Though our house
is compact, we wanted it to look as
good as possible." Crystal pieces
delicately displayed on the counter
and a vertical lucite strip light add
elegance. A small window fulfills the
owner's preference for natural light.
Since she loves to cook and
entertain, a large kitchen was
essential. In the center of the white
formica kitchen is a triangular island
with chrome stools. "People always
sit around here and socialize," she
explains. An adjustable tube light
hangs over the island.
The white formica used throughout
the state-of-the-art kitchen is trimmed
in a silver formica band. White leather
and chrome chairs surround the
pedestal table. A treasured crystal
collection is displayed on shelves
against the wall.
Around the corner in the kitchen is
the laundry area. Steps with steel
railing outside the kitchen lead
downstairs for the dog to walk out.
A sliding glass door separates the
kitchen from the sloped glass ceiling
conservatory room. "At night this
whole room is a mirror," the wife

explains. Gray leather sectionals, a
small glass table and family pictures
offer a cozy inviting place to watch
TV.
While the deck outside the
conservatory holds the barbecue and
white table and chairs, the deck
outside the great room offers a
fabulous view of the woods and the
lake.
The master suite is on the third
level. Overlooking the great room is
the spectacular curved balcony that
houses and follows the shape of the
grand piano. It is held up by a steel
post. Just outside the master
bedroom are two black leather chairs
and ottomans where the owners read
or relax and watch the sunset. A
colorful Oriental rug sits under the

piano and contemporary prints in
vivid shades adorn the walls.
The compact, no-frills master
bedroom has built-in his and her
closets. A black glossy formica head
board frames the platform bed. "I
open my eyes in the morning and the
first thing I see is the lake," says the
owner.
The whirlpool in the glamorous
mirrored black ceramic tile bath is
invitingly decorated with ceramic
ducks and plants. His and her sink
vanity units are built into the corners.
Whether watching the ducks on the
lake, the blue herons on the
boardwalk or the rabbits in the yard,
the owners of this handsome house
are enjoying the serenity of country
living in style.
