Orlando, Fla., died Oct. 12,
He is survived by his
daughters, Cheryl McDougall
and Tamy; daughter and son-
in-law, Cindee and Philip
Schwartz; sister and brother-
in-law, Marlene and George
Bez; brothers and sisters-in-
law, Lloyd and Helen, Stanley
and Elaine.

FRIEDERIKA WEISS, 99,
of Southfield, died Oct. 10.
She is survived by a sister,
Ella Rosenbaum of South
Africa; cousins, niece and
nephew.

Edward Politzer,
Businessman

Edward Joseph Politzer, of
West Bloomfield, died Oct. 9.
He was 81.
Mr. Politzer was in the
leather and findings business
for the past 60 years, serving
as president of the Wolverine
Findings and Leather Co.
since 1955. He was a founder
of the Detroit Tennis and
Squash Club in Farmington
Hills.
He leaves his wife, Esther;
son and daughter-in-law,
John and Dianne of West
Bloomfield; daughter and
son-in-law, Jill and Fred
Krach of Lislie, Ill.; sister,
Lillian Rubin of Marlton,
N.J.; four •grandchildren.

Barbara Lenchner,
Equitable Group VP

Barbara K. Lenchner, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Oct. 12.
She was 60.
Mrs. Lenchner and her hus-
band, Kenneth, in 1960 form-
ed the Equitable Building
Company, a firm that built
more than 2,500 homes in the
metropolitan area. As ex-
ecutive vice president, Mrs.
Lenchner helped take the

firm from a residential
building company into a con-
glomerate called the
Equitable Group, which is to-
day one of the largest shopp-
ing center developers. and
owners in the state.
At 16, Mrs. Lenchner had
her own radio program, "Bar-
bara Sings." She sang with
the New York City Opera
workshops and at Pittsburgh
Carnegie Hall. In Detroit, she
sang with musical companies
and orchestras and appeared
as the lead singer in local
musicals.
Mrs. Lenchner was a past
member of the Waterloo and
Metamora Hunts, and a
member of the National
Council of Jewish Women and
Temple Beth El.'
She is survived by her hus-
band, Kenneth; sons, Leslie
and Lawrence; daughter, Lisa
Rosenbaum; mother, Sylvia
Behr; five grandchildren.

Alan Goldstein,

Of Alan Enterprises

Alan Goldstein, of West
Bloomfield, died Oct. 14. He
was 55.
Mr. Goldstein was president
of Alan Enterprises Inc. He
was in the first team of All
American University of
North Carolina-Chapel Hill
in 1958 and signed with the
Oakland Raiders. He was a
past president of the
Michigan Women's and
Children's Apparel Associa-
tion from 1977-1978 and a
past president of the Temple
Beth Jacob Brotherhood.
He leaves his wife, Carole;
daughter, Holly of Southfield;_
sons and daughter-in-law,
Greg and Carmen of West
Bloomfield, Marc of North
Miami Beach, Fla.; brother
and sister-in-law, Leonard
and Adrienne of Old Beth
Page, N.Y.; two grandchildren.

Richard Liss,
Ford Engineer

Richard Liss, of Lathrup
Village, died Oct. 15. He was
67.
A retired engineer from the
Ford Motor Company, Mr.
Liss was past president of
Ivan S. Bloch B'nai B'rith,
past president of Mr. and Mrs.
Bowling, president of Mezerit-
cher Social Club, a member
of Gamma Kappa Chi and a
founding member of Con-
gregation Beth Shalom.
He is survived by his wife,
Madelyn; son and daughter-
in-law, Dr. Howard and Mona
of Ann Arbor and Israel;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Joanne B. and Daniel Gotlib
of Southfield, Julie E. and
Marc Katz of Dayton, Ohio;
nine grandchildren.
