Harold Linton
HAROLD LINTON of
Southfield has been named to
the newlycreated position of
assistant dean of the College
of Architecture and Design at
Lawrence Technological Uni-
versity. Mr. Linton will con-
centrate on continuing efforts
in freshman studies and in
managing the pre-college pro-
gram in architecture and
design which he founded in
1976. Mr. Linton, a professor
of architecture, has served on
the Lawrence Tech faculty
since 1974. In addition to his
teaching responsibilities, Mr.
Linton is a practicing artist
and his paintings appear in
numerous galleries, museums
and private collections.
BETTY KOWALSKY STAS-

teacher, has been invited to
present two lectures and
workshops on the subject
"Criteria for Judging" at the
Ann Arbor Piano Teachers
Guild and the Flint Music
Teachers Association.
Ely Katz
ELY KATZ was chosen to
receive the Michigan Veteran
of the Year Award for his out-
standing work throughout
the state as Commander of
the Jewish War Veterans of
Michigan. In addition, Mr.
Katz received a plaque, a
wristwatch and a citation for
his work with the Jewish War
Veterans in cooperation with
the many other veteran
organizations in Michigan
during his two years as state
commander.
