JCC Sets
Class Offerings
The Maple-Drake Jewish
Community Center will spon-
sor a variety of classes.
The Calligraphy Class will
start 7-9 p.m. Oct. 10 for four
weeks.
Bridge classes for the begin-
ner and those of intermediate
level will start in the evening
Oct. 7.
The Dancing Center will
start Monday and Tuesday
dance classes Oct. 7-8.
Creative, ballet and tap
classes will be offered for
students of all ages. Also, pre-
school dance classes are
available.
The Youth Ceramics class
for 8-13 year olds will start
6-7 p.m. Oct. 7 for five weeks.
Magic classes for the 6-12
year olds will start 6:30-7:30
p.m. Oct. 7 for four weeks.
DJs Eric Harris and Stuart
Rogoff will offer the Yo-Dance
Steps for 6th and 7th graders.
These classes will include
street dancing, contemporary,
as well as classic dance steps.
This 10-week series will start
Oct. 14 at the Maple-Drake
building and Oct. 15 at the
JPM.
The Acting Workshop will
offer a gymnasium and clinic
for the serious actor. This
workshop is designed for the
student to execute his craft
and hone his skills through
carefully designed acting ex-
ercises. Each participant will
have a chance to focus on
special areas of work. In ad-
dition, each actor will begin
work on a repertoire of audi-
tion monologues and ma-
terial. A four week session
will begin 7-10 p.m. Oct. 29.

the speaker at the meeting of
the Labor Zionist Alliance
1:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Labor
Zionist Institute, 25900
Greenfield, Oak Park. Rabbi
Polish's talk will be on "Labor
Zionism at the Crossroads."
Rabbi Polish is the senior
rabbi of Temple Beth El in
Birmingham. He has served
as the director of education
for Inter/Met, an interfaith,
interracial program for train-
ing clergy in Washington,
D.C., and as associate ex-
ecutive vice president and
director of the Washington of-
fice of the Synagogue Council
of America.
This meeting is open to all.
