Heritage Ball to be
held at the Palace Oct. 23,
with a patrons' evening at
Franklin Hills Country
Club. More than 250 attend-
ed the Sept. 25 patrons'
event hosted by Mr. and

BIRMINGHAM
FASHION

Downtown Birmingham's
second annual fall fashion
show was held on Sept. 23 at
the Birmingham Theatre
with more than 50 mer-
chants participating. Lisa
Marks of The Jewish News
reports that fashions ranged
from funky (It's The Ritz) to
frilly (Ribbons), from rugs
(Woven Treasures) to riches
(Ceresnie & Offen Furs,
Laszlo's Leather).
The evening began with
hors d'oeuvres courtesy of
the Merchant of Vino, live
music by Oasis and an • ex-
tensive silent auction. Dick
Purtan of WKQI hosted the
fashion show. A feast of
sweets followed, including
goodies from Gayles
Chocolates and Marty's
Cookies.
