Midrasha Sets
Lecture Series

The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies, Congregation
Beth Achim and Jewish Com-
munity Center of Metropoli-
tan Detroit will co-sponsor a
series entitled "Judaism and
Sexuality" 8-9 p.m. on four
consecutive Tuesdays starting
Oct. 8 at Beth Achim. Rabbi
Martin Berman will speak on
"And the Man Knew Eve His
Wife: Judaism, Sexuality and
Marriage." There is a
charge. Pre-registration is
encouraged.
Subsequent lectures will be
held as follows: On Oct. 15
with Rabbi Rod Glogower of
the Hillel Orthodox Minyan,
University of Michigan, and
Rabbi Paul Yedwab of Temple
Israel, will speak on "Liberal
and Traditional Jewish
Perspectives on Homosexuali-
ty."
On Oct. 22 Rabbi Louis
Finkelman of B'nai B'rith
Hillel Foundations of Greater
Detroit will speak on
"Singles and Sexuality: Con-
flict between Jewish Tradi-
tion and Modern Reality."
On Oct. 29 Dr. Mark Evans,
director of the Division of
Reproductive Genetics and
associate professor of
OB/GYN, Hutzel Hospital
and Wayne State University,
will speak on "Technologies
of Parenting in Modern
Medicine."

Hosts Patterson

L. Brooks Patterson will be
the speaker at the Southfield
Optimist Club's breakfast
7:30 a.m. Oct. 8 at Excalibur
restaurant.

secuting attorney of Oakland
County. He is a senior part-
ner in the law firm of Patter-
son, Potter, Delisi and Car-
