Bais Chabad Hebrew High
School will begin classes
7:15-9:10 Oct. 7 at the Bais
Chabad Torah Center, 5595
West Maple.
The Hebrew High School
will offer courses in Jewish
history starting at the year
1648 and classes in Torah
study with emphasis on Rashi
and the classical
commentators.
Courses also are offered in
Mishnah and conversational
Hebrew. The high school is
open to students of both day
school and non-day school
backgrounds. Special courses
will be offered which will be
geared to day school gradu
ates. Courses will be offered
Monday and Thursday nights
and are open to all students
regardless of synagogue or
temple affiliation.
The first semester will run
Oct.-Jan.; the second
semester will run Feb.-May.
There is a fee.

CAJE Conference

The Jewish Federation will
provide funding for staff
development for Jewish
educators in the Detroit area.
Educators in the metro-
politan area will attend a
mini-CAJE (Coalition for
Alternatives in Jewish
Education) Oct. 27 in
Cleveland, Ohio.
Over the past several years
the Jewish Federation has
provided funds to teachers to
attend the National CAJE
Conference. Regional mini-
CAJE's have recently been
established to provide for
more participation by Jewish
educators.
