The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies will offer pro-
grams and courses as part of
its teachers training and
teacher certification program.
For new teachers in day
schools, pre-schools and sup-
plementary schools, Dr.
Helene Kalson Cohen, direc-
tor of the Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies, will offer
"Education 101: Using Cur-
rent Educational Theory in
the Classroom." Principals
and directors should call the
Midrasha office to let up a
schedule appropriate for their
school's specific needs.
A special course for Hebrew
teachers will be offered 7-9
p.m. Oct. 3-24 entitled
"Meeting the Challenge:
Teaching Hebrew as a Living
Language to the American
Student." This course is of-
fered for one Midrasha
teacher certification credit. It
will be held at the United
Hebrew Schools Building.
The Midrasha will offer
"The Discovery Seminar" co-
sponsored by Aish HaTorah 9
a.m.-6:30 p.m. Nov. 10. The
seminar is designed for the
needs of educators — policy
makers, members of lay
educational committees,
teachers and principals.
There is a charge which in-
cludes breakfast and lunch.
Subsidies are available for
educators working in a
Jewish setting.
The seminar also will be of-
fered as two half-day sessions
6:30-10 p.m. Nov. 6 and
1:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the
United Hebrew Schools
Building.
