will hold its annual Sukkot
family Shabbat dinner 6 p.m.
Sept. 27.
The event will begin with
services at 6 p.m. followed by
a traditional Shabbat dinner.
After the meal, the group will
join in the Birkat Hamazon
and songs led by Cantors
Larry Vieder and Howard
Glantz. Rabbis Efry Spectre
and Elliot Pachter also will
participate. The evening has
been planned by the
Synagogue's Jewish Ex-
periences For Families Corn-
mittee and is chaired by Celia
Lubetsky.

An "Introduction to
Judaism" course, designed for
the convert, the prospective
convert and the Jew seeking
a better understanding of
Judaism, will be offered this
fall at Temple Beth El.
Led by Rabbi Julian Cook,
the 15-week class will meet
on Monday evenings, 8-9:30
p.m. beginning Oct. 7. Topics
to be covered include holidays,
customs, history, philosophy
and theology. Couples are en-
couraged to take the course
together and will be charged
a single fee.
