Moshe Gottstein

Professor Moshe Goshen-
Gottstein, an Israel Prize
winner who was one of the
country's leading scholars in
Hebrew and other Semitic
languages, died Sept. 16. He
was 66.
German-born and educated
at the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem, Dr. Goshen-Gott-
stein was awarded the presti-
gious Israel Prize in 1988 in
recognition of his life's work
in Biblical research, linguis-
tics and translation.
