$1,000 first prize sponsored
by the Arts Foundation of
Michigan will be awarded.
Louis Redstone, architect
and exhibition committee co-
chairperson, said that the
BCA and Southfield are
hosting this show to "en-
courage business support and
participation in the arts, to
stimulate the cultural en-
vironment in Michigan and to
enhance public awareness
and appreciation for outdoor
sculpture by acclaimed
Michigan artists."
Exhibition co-chairperson is
Michael Curtis, a sculptor
and art historian.
The exhibition will be open
daily to the public without
charge. For information, call

sors, the exhibition is made
possible through a grant from
the Michigan Council for the
Arts, the Maas Foundation
and the Taubman Endow-
ment for the Arts.

Art Exhibit

will be on display at the Our
Town Art Exhibition and Sale
10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 17-20 at
the Community House in
downtown Birmingham.
Our Town is a juried exhibi-
tion featuring Michigan ar-
tists and their creative inter-
pretations of "Our Town" and
its meaning to them.
Five days of programs„
speakers and awards have
been planned beginning with
the Gala Preview 7 p.m. Oct.
16. On Oct 17 at 7:30 a.m.,
William Bowtwick, the Our
Town juror, will speak on
"Creativity in Business: How
to Recognize It And Deal
With It" at the Professional
Women's Breakfast. At 12
noon Oct. 17, there will be a
luncheon with Patricia Hill
Burnett.
An Evening of Art and Jazz
will be 6-9 p.m. Oct. 18 with
music and hors d'oeuvres. The
morning of Oct. 19 will be
devoted to children, with a
special workshop planned.
The exhibition will close with
the award ceremony on Oct.
20 at 4 p.m.
The Our Town Art Exhibi-
tion and Sale is open to the
public. Reservations are re-
quired for the special events.
Admission to the exhibition is
free during general admission
hours. All art work is for sale.
