the way," she said.
NCJW state public affairs
officer Lois Granader, who
attended last week's
MARAL training session,
said NCJW announced its
support of family planning
in 1930 and in 1967 resolved
to work for women's repro-
ductive rights.
"NCJW, almost 100 years
old, is the leading Jewish
organization on choice," said
Mrs. Granader, who brought
along her husband. "As ear-
ly as 1930, NCJW passed a
national resolution suppor-
ting family planning, and at
the 1967 National Conven-
tion, prior to Roe v. Wade,
NCJW delegates resolved to
protect reproductive rights,"
she said. "Jewish women
have always been on the
forefront of social action
issues."
Mrs. Lutz, who says she'll
be at the next blockade, is a
little nervous.
"I imagine it will be
difficult escorting patients,"
Mrs. Lutz said. "I'm a little
worried about how I'll
handle it. I know it will be
frustrating listening to the
`anti's' and not responding.
I've always been pro-choice,
and now I want to be on the
front lines. It's time to stand
up and be counted.

Msgr. Leonard Blair has
been appointed ecumenical
officer for the Archdiocese of
Detroit.
The appointment is in addi-
tion to Msgr. Blair's duties as
dean of studies and assistant
professor of theology at
Sacred Heart Major Semi-
nary College, Detroit.
Msgr. Blair will serve as the
archbishop's personal repre-
sentative in dealing with
other Christians and with
non-Christian religions
within the Archdiocese of
Detroit. He will exercise his
responsibilities as part of the
Office of Christian Worship
within the Department of
Parish Life.
