Interment, California. Ida C. Miller, Sisterhood Founder Ida C. Miller, who founded the sisterhood of Adat Shalom Synagogue, holding the first meeting in her living room, died Sept. 10. She was 78. Mrs. Miller, of Southfield, was the woman of valor for Israel Bonds and was a charter member of Mat Shalom. She was involved in many other Jewish causes, in- cluding Bar Ilan University, Yeshiva Beth Yehudah, Hadassah and JARC. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Dr. James Bittker of Bloomfield Hills, Annette Miller of Ran- dolph, N.J.; five grand- children; four great-grand- children. The sweetest lady who ever lived, to her hus- band, Max, children, Dr. Marc and Cheryl Bocknek, Carol and Tom Gilbert and Susan and Jimmy Blumenthal, grandchildren, Steven, Andy, Sara, Jacob, Samuel, Michael and Teddy. Dr. Howard Chazen, Orthodontist Alexander Weiner, Cab Owner ZICHRONAM LIVRACHA HARRY KORELITZ In Memory Of Dr. Howard L. Chazen, 53, of West Bloomfield, died Sept. 5. Dr. Chazen was an or- thodontist and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Michigan Society of Orthodontists, and he taught graduate school for over 15 years at the Univer- sity of Detroit. He was a member of Alpha Omega, Shaarey Zedek, the Tweed Foundation, was active in JARC and the Allied Jewish Campaign. He served with distinction with the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1964.
