Temple Israel will begin a ten-week Introduction to Judaism
course this fall. The course is available to Temple Israel members
as well as anyone in the community who is interested in con-
version or would like to learn more about Judaism.

Judith Miller, senior writer
and former deputy media
chief for the New York Times
will be the guest speaker at
the Holocaust Memorial
Center's seventh anniversary
dinner, "Celebration of
Righteousness," Oct. 20 at the
Westin Hotel.
Ms. Miller is the author of
One, By One, By One, which
tells how people in six nations
have distorted the memory of
the Holocaust. Among her
pieces appearing in the New
York Times Sunday Magazine
was one entitled "European
Amnesia of the Holocaust."
More recently she co-
authored with Laurie
Mylroie, Saddam Hussein
and the Crisis in the Gulf
Ms. Miller has had a
distinguished career, joining
the Times in 1977 as a
member of the Washington
Bureau. In 1983, Ms. Miller
became the first woman to be
named chief of the Times'
Cairo Bureau in Egypt where
she was responsible for
coverage of the Arab world.
