special order clothing for its
customers. "We do a tremendous
trunk show business. We invite our
clients to order merchandise. We even
show them video tapes," Ms. Lossing
said.
Ms. Lossing explains that Saks Fifth
Avenue provides some exclusive
shopping with merchandise from
American designer Peggy Jennings
and fine jeweler Don Spak.
Debbie Graziani is a personal image
consultant with a large local following.
Mr. and Mrs. Isiah Thomas are clients.
After the interview, she usually
begins in the client's closet discarding
inappropriate clothes. She then labels
and organizes everything in the
closet. Her next step is to create a
shopping list.
When she shops, she works closely
with several specialty shops. Some of
her favorites are: Roz & Sherm, Carl
Sterr, Jacobson's, Claymore Shops,
Hudson's, Judith Ann, Esther and
Estelle and Bricker-Thnis Furs.
Ms. Graziani pointed out that she
is not bound to one store and has the
ability to shop anywhere. "I'm
independent. There's no way I say
something looks good if it doesn't."
Ms. Graziani says she or her
assistant will shop all day looking for
the right tie or camisole to finish an
outfit.
She adds: "My clients have the best
of both worlds. They don't have to go
shopping and I give them a whole
new look."
