"Many of the designers are using
it this season. Micro fiber is definitely
strong," says Sandy Blye, executiive
director of the American Fur Industry.
"It allows the fur to be cleaned
easily and is water resistant," said Mr.
Malter. He adds that the micro fiber
has a soft, velvety texture.
Local furriers are offering many
options by selling reversible fur and
fabric coats, fur trimmed coats and
coats with zip-out linings. These
choices are perfect for the women
who are adding to a fur wardrobe or
for the women who do not want a
complete fur look. Another benefit to
the fur and fabric combination is the
cost. These coats are less expensive
than a classic fur. The cloth
combinations include rainwear, silks,
wool gabardine and cashmere.

collection. Malter furs have a large
selection that either zip out or button

Ceresnie and Offen will be highlight-
ing a fur and cashmere line, while
John 'finis points out that many of
these fur lined or trimmed coats are
perfect as an intermediate coat for
milder weather. He mentions the
continued popularity of the fur and
leather combination for men and
women.
"The men's line is tremendous. We
have traditional looks and trendy,
bomber styles. The looks are younger
and haven't been available in the
past," said Mr. Thnis.
Most furriers have a complete
leather line to complement their fall
fur collection. The leather and fur
combination continues to be a strong
seller as customers continue to add
pieces to their wardrobe.
