SHINING SIREN (above): Donna Karan offered several new bi-fabric body dresses. Among them was this one-shoulder dress,

$700, through Saks Fifth Avenue; the black matte wool jersey has a gold lame band stretched across the front and down one side.
Faux gold accessories shine, too; swirl earrings and necklace; Robert Lee Morris-brand cuff bracelets, $325 each, from Roz & Sherm
and Saks Fifth Avenue. Gold swirl necklace, $110, from Ceci's and gold swirl earrings, $106, from Ceci's.

MEDITATIVE MAIDEN (left): Although many designers choose to play up the short evening dress, demand for the long, full

ball gown remains steady. Ball gowns are particularly popular in cities that have several formal charity events. Gowns can be
sleeveless or with sleeves; with a high or low waistline; and with a variety of necklines. The Bill Blass gown, $1104, has a full chiffon-
and-netting skirt, available through Saks Fifth Avenue. Pearl accessories from Ceci's complement the formal gown. The triple strand
faux pearl necklace is $112, and the pearl bracelet, $110.
