ATTENTION: ALL TEENAGERS GET ON THE RIGHT TRACK! THE COMMUNITY JEWISH HIGH SCHOOL presents TWO HOUR CLASSES DESIGNED ESPECIALLY FOR YOU SUNDAYS 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Sen. Bob Kerry (D-Neb.) Kerry To Join 1992 Race? The recent decision by Sen. Albert Gore, D-Tenn., to sit out next year's presidential sweepstakes removes an- other candidate who has worked hard to develop sup- port among Jewish voters and contributors. But Sen. Bob Kerry, D- Neb., apparently sees 1992 as a year of opportunity. Washington insiders regard a Kerry candidacy as a grow- ing possibility as the ranks of Democratic contenders continues to thin. The Nebraska legislator recently returned from his first trip to Israel with strongly favorable impres- sions — something that may offset what some observers in the pro-Israel community regard as a mixed record on their key issues. Jewish Democrats remain convinced that a strong Democratic nominee can run well in the Jewish commun- ity in 1992. COMMUNITY. Double your closet usage = gel Groups Split On Child Care Rules Last year's furious battle over child care legislation just won't go away. And not surprisingly, Jew- ish organizations participated in the debate. "We think the proposed rules compound the church- state problems that were al- ready in the bill," said Judy Golub, legislative director for the American Jewish Committee. "Everything we were ad- vocating for was included in the new regulations," said Abba Cohen, Washington representative for Agudath Israel of America. "The regulations express the true intent of the law —to provide the greatest expression of parental choice in child care." ❑ POLITICAL ACTION TRACK CREATIVE ARTS TRACK Factory Direct Sale September 1, 1991 ANNOUNCING The successful completion of its conversion to 10% OFF • CLOSET SYSTEMS a nationally chartered commercial bank.
