500 REASONS TO REJOICE
With hearts full of joy, Children of Chernobyl, Michigan Region celebrates the arrival in Israel
of the fifth planeload of children from the contaminated Chernobyl area of Russia. The
number of youngsters evacuated thus far under Chabad's Children of Chernobyl program
has now reached 500.
These Jewish children, rescued from under a life-threatening cloud of radiation, are afflicted
with a variety of illnesses as a result of radiation poisoning. Many are already beginning
to respond to the top quality medical care, nourishing diet and emotional support they
receive from expert doctors, counselors, teachers and new friends.
It is- our fervent prayer G-d will bless the children and their families with health, happiness
and a bright future.
