Volunteers in Action Hillel
(VIA Hillel) will hold their
first meeting. VIA Hillel is a
community service group
that works in soup kitchens
and helps the elderly, young
and needy. At 7:30 p.m. the
Reform Havura Apples and
Honey Party/Mass Meeting
will take place. At 8 p.m. Hill
Street Cinema, Hillel's film
co-op, will hold their first
meeting.
On Sept. 12, the following
events will be held. At 3:30
p.m. Hillel will hold Sukkah
building. From 6:30-11 p.m.
the Undergraduate Social
Committee will hold a
hayride. For information, call
769-0500. At 7 p.m. in the
Lawyer's Club Lounge, the
Jewish Law Students Union
(JLSU) will hold their first
meeting. JLSU sponsors a
wide variety of lectures and
symposia on legal topics. On
Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
and Sept. 14 at 9 p.m., Hill St.
Cinema will present Full
Metal Jacket.
On Sept. 15, the following
will be held: At 5 p.m. the an-
nual Grads and Young Profes-
sionals Summer Blowout Pic-
nic will take place at Burns
Park, located on Wells, off
Packard. Participants are ask-
ed to bring salads and veggie
dishes to pass. Kosher hot
dogs,-buns and drinks will be
provided. A donation is re-

At 7:30 p.m., Student Strug-
gle for Soviet Jewry (SSSJ)
will hold their first meeting.
SSSJ promotes religious
freedom and supports the ef-
forts of the international
Jewish community to ease
the suffering of individuals
remaining in the Soviet
Union and the absorption of
those permitted to leave. At 8
p.m., Prospect, the Jewish
Student Journal at the U-M
will hold their first meeting.
