WE AND OURS WISH YOU AND YOURS A HAPPY HOLIDAY The man whose comedy style has influenced a whole new generation of comedians, also has exhibited a flair for acting. In 1979, he returned to Broadway in grand style with a Tony nomination as Best Actor and a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for his performance in the hit musical, They're Playing Our R.I.K.'s The Restaurant will be closed for Yom Kippur Tuesday Evening and Wednesday Please visit the Total Cuisine Center. Song. He's also appeared in several films, including Hooper, The Owl and the Pussycat and The Bell Jar. His most recent film, Tales From the Crypt: The Movie, was released in May 1990. He also has had frequent guest spots on such series as "The New Twilight Zone," "Murder She Wrote" and "Midnight Caller." His 1988 episode of "Family Ties" was nominated for an Emmy Award. Mr. Klein is presently at work on his sixth HBO special, a new cable show titl- ed "Dead Comics Society," and a whole host of other projects. Still, after 25 years in show business, Mr. Klein remains somewhat of an enigma. At the top of the comedic heap one moment, his career has seemed to stagnate at times, partially, perhaps, because of his decision to remain on the East Coast. These days, due to a bitter divorce from opera singer Brenda Boozer and a desire to stay close to his young son from that union, Mr. Klein remains committed to his Westchester, N.Y., digs. "Still," he says, "I have a lot of pride in having done as well as I did from the East Coast. That's not an easy thing to do. It definitely has cramped my style in the movies and the television in- dustry, which is now quite dead in New York. But I've recently done a pilot for Nor- man Lear titled 'Balls,' co- starring Raquel Welch. If the show goes, it will be done in California. And while I'd prefer to stay on the East Coast, I will go there to do it. "Today, I feel a resurgence since my divorce. My life has changed a lot, basically for the better. I realize I should be doing more, and I'm ready. I'm glad people didn't forget me,. and I'm hungry again, emotionally and financially. I'm more intereted in a varie- ty of projects and ready to work." ❑ 4I■ Radisson Plaza Hotel o At Town Center Management and Staff Give Hearty Wishes To Everyone For A Very Healthful, Happy and Prosperous New Year I Total Cuisine Center • Bloomfield Plaza 6646 Telegraph Road • Birmingham • 855-4005 • AINN Wolk Ok 111 ‘ 4 •01=011 ■ 11 011k *iv is May the New Year Bring To All Our Friends Health, and Family Joy, Prosperity and Everything Good in Life kr= FUN LIM'S RESTAURANT, INC. 8410 W.
