Luciano Pavarotti will
perform in Detroit on
Oct. 13 at Joe Louis Arena.
Michigan Opera Theatre
and Ford Motor Co. will pre-
sent the encore performance
by the celebrated tenor. The
news was announced at a re-
cent press luncheon held at
the Opus One restaurant
downtown.
There are many festivities
in conjunction with
Pavarotti's upcoming con-
cert. A gala dinner and
dance, "After the
Magic,"will follow the con-
cert at the Riverview
Ballroom at Cobo Hall with
Mr. Pavarotti attending.
Michigan Opera Theatre
and Ford Motor Co. will offer
the Luciano Pavarotti look-
alike contest. The contest
will be held on Sept. 25 on
the set of Birmingham
Theatre's production of Lend
Me a Tenor. No singing ex-
perience is necessary to
enter the contest.
