afternoon of fun in the sun
11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Aug. 25
at Camp Ruth II (located
behind the Maple-Drake
building). There is a charge.

The Center Singles will
sponsor a workshop on "Com-
municating Together" 7:30
p.m. Aug. 26 at Maple-Drake.
Nick Berar will facilitate
the program designed to help
you overcome obstacles and
barriers that prevent com-
munication on an intimate
level. There will be a charge.
Center Singles (age 25-45)
will sponsor a pot luck dinner,
followed by an Oneg 7 p.m.
Aug. 30 at Thornberry Club-
house.
The Oneg will be held open
to the first 30 people. Each
person must bring along his
favorite vegetarian-style dish
to serve 12 people. The food
item will be selected when
reservations are called in.

SPACE Is Planning
Groups And Workshop
SPACE — For Changing
Families has peer support
groups for divorced men and
women that meet for four
weeks. The September group
will begin 7:15-9:30 p.m. Sept.
5. Pre-registration is
required.
All groups meet at the
Southfield office, 30233
Southfield Rd., between 12
and 13 Mile roads, on the
west side of the street.

The speakers will be Dr.
Neil Kalter, author of Grow-
ing Up With Divorce and
David Blake, a Lutheran
pastor who addresses loss,
grief, and healing through
words and song.
Workshops will be offered.

Machon L'Torah Offers
Classes And Program
Machon Mbrah, the Jewish
Learning Network of Michi-
gan, will open its Judaic Col-
lege this fall.
The semester will begin
with a series of pre-high holi-
day lectures. The opening ses-
sion, entitled: "Lasting Solu-
tions for Rosh Hashanah
Resolutions" will be led by
Rabbi Avraham Jacobovitz,
director of Machon ETorah.
All classes will be held at
Machon L'Torah's learning
center, 15221 W. 10 Mile Rd.
The first session will take
place 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4.
Refreshments will be serv-
ed. There is no charge.
Machon L'Torah will hold a
special pre-high holiday
educational program for
newly-arrived Soviet Jewish
immigrants 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at
Machon L'Torah's Learning
Center.
A lecture on the topic:
"Why Should A Modern Jew
Celebrate Ancient Holidays?"
led by Rabbi Avraham Jaco-
bovitz, will be translated in-
to Russian.
