Lyric Ensemble
Plans Seascin

The Lyric Chamber Ensem-
ble 1991-92 season will offer
concerts spiced with music of
Hispanic cultures, along with
traditional classical chamber
music repertoire. In conjunc-
tion with the summer Olym-
pics in Barcelona, Spain, and
the 500-year anniversary of
Columbus' discovery of the
Americas, each concert of the
season will include several
works written by Spanish,
South American and/or Por-
tuguese composers, or works
by non-Hispanic composers
who paid tribute to the uni-
que folk melodies and
rhythms of Spain.
The LCE will offer three
concerts at Detroit's recently
renovated Orchestra Hall.
The first concert, Nov. 10, will
combine the music, dance and
costumes of Spain in a "Fla-
menco Fantasy: from Folklore
to Classical."
The fourth annual piano
festival, "Spanish Rhapsody,"
will be Feb. 2. Six area
pianists will perform.
The final concert is set for
March 8, a musical
"Kaleidoscope," including
Vivaldi's Concerto for Two

Airs.
"Andalusian Aires" will be
heard 3:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the
War Memorial.
The final concert of the
Grosse Pointe War Memorial
Series, "Troubadours, Tor-
readors and Traditionalists,"
April 5, will be a multi-media
presentation in collaboration
with Ann Arbor Dance
Works.

subscription or for ticket in-
formation, call LCE,
