um/Gallery was
dedicated July 24 at a gala
reception at the Jewish
Community Center with
more than 450 people atten-
ding the patron event. The
museum will exhibit works
by Jewish artists and ad-
dress artistic Jewish themes
and issues. The gallery also
plans to display historical
and cultural exhibits
borrowed from other muse-
ums.
The 7,200 square foot mu-
seum, designed by Daniel
Redstone of Redstone and
Associates and located in-
side the JCC, is a gift to the
community from Manny
and Natalie Charach in
memory of their daughter
Janice Charach Epstein.

entrance doors and recalled
how enthusiastic Janice
Charach Epstein was about
being part of the first adult
bat mitzvah class at the syn-
agogue.
Director Sharon Zim-
merman researched the
community to put together
the first exhibit, "The Art of
Collecting: The Jewish Col-
lector's Experience." The 79
works of art, on loan from 60
families, is impressive. The
exhibit will be open to the
public through Aug. 25.
