Iraq Hosts
Jew-Haters

Paris (JTA) — Iraq played
host to a gaggle of French
neo-Nazis and Holocaust re-
visionists from several coun-
tries, according to a July 24
interview published in the
daily Liberation here.
Michel Faci, 35, who says
he was secretary general of
an extreme right-wing anti-
Semitic group at the time,
boasts that he and about 20
others were invited to Iraq
by a government- sponsored
organization called
"Friendship, Peace and
Solidarity."
He described the "thrill"
of being able to walk around
in a "genuine" SS uniform
in the Al Aras tourist city
about five miles from
Baghdad.
According to Mr. Faci, the
French neo-Nazis were
received by the Iraqi infor-
mation minister, Abdel
Lateef Jassem, who was sur-
prised that the "Protocols of
the Elders of Zion" is
outlawed in France.
Mr. Faci said that after do-
ing propaganda work on Ira-
qi television, he and his
companions left on the last
plane to Jordan in mid-
January — following the
first night of Allied bombing
of Baghdad.
Asked where he and his
neo-Nazi buddies would go
next, Mr. Faci replied that
their next destination was
Eastern Europe.

Israeli Jets
Strike Lebanon

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Israeli
air force jets last week
struck guerrilla targets close
to Beirut. The raids were de-
scribed as pre-emptive, to
forestall attacks on pro-
Israel elements.
The Israel Defense Force
said a boat belonging to the
Popular Front for the Lib-
eration of Palestine-General
Command, an extremist fac-
tion led by Ahmed Jabril,
was hit in the area of
Damour, seven miles south
of Beirut.
The announcement stress-
ed that the attack had
nothing to do with the recent
deployment of the Lebanese
regular army in southern
Lebanon.
Security sources in Beirut
said Lebanese troops fired at
the planes.
Witnesses said Israeli air-
craft also bombed a position
occupied by the radical Pa-
lestinian group near the
coastal road. They reported
clouds of black smoke rising
from the areas hit.
