Temple Kol Ami
Holds Open House

Temple Kol Ami will host
an open house 7-9 p.m. Aug.
15 for anyone who is in-
terested in seeing the Temple
and joining the congregation.
There will be an opportuni-
ty to meet with the rabbi, the
religious school director and
members of the congregation
active in the affairs of the
temple.
Refreshments will be serv-

MachzOr Workshop
Will Be Held

Adat Shalom Synagogue
will hold a two-part "Machzor
Workshop" 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11
and 18 at the synagogue.
The sessions, led by Rabbis
Efry Spectre and Elliot
Pachter, are designed to help
congregants understand the
meaning of the High Holy
Day liturgy.
There is no charge. Reserva-
tions are not required.

Dedicates Torah

Congregation Shaarey
Zedek B'nai Israel will
dedicate a new Torah scroll to
the memory of Mr, Arnold
Wine at Shabbat services
Aug. 17. Mr. Wine was a
board member and active par-
ticipant in the synagogue.
The Torah will be dedicated
by Mr. Wine's wife Shirley,
their children and grand-
children. A special kiddush
will be offered.

Oak-Woods
Honors Members

Young Israel of Oak-Woods
will honor a group of new
synagogue members with a
kiddush this Shabbat.
The new members are: Mr.
and Mrs. Larry (Chaim) Forst,
Dr. Oscar Bigman, Dr.
Eugene Schram and Mrs.
Sylvia Knoppow.
