Forum luncheon sponsored by
the Jewish Federation noon
Aug. 12 at the Radisson Plaza
in Southfield.
A Tigers radio broadcaster
since 1960, Mr. Harwell
became the fourth recipient of
the Joe Louis Award, which
recognizes contributions to
sports in southeastern
Michigan. It is sponsored by
the Detroit Institute of Arts
and Sports Illustrated.
Mr. Harwell has been nam-
ed national sportscaster of
the year 12 times and receiv-
ed the Ford Frick Award at
the Baseball Hall of Fame in
1981.
The series is organized by

Susan Moiseev, chairmen of
the planning committee; Dr.
Conrad Giles, chairman of the
honorary committee; and
Michael Feldman, chairman
of Federation's Leadership
