FREE DINNER WITH PURCHASE OF DINNER OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE !No Carry Out' I Excludes Holidays I While the film's three friends share the fantasy of "For a Few Dollars More," Mr. Crystal is clear about what colors and gives shape to his dreams. "My greatest fantasy vacation would be to spend three weeks with a really great painter and learn how to paint," he said. "I admire Picasso so much. I'd like to play him one day." However, Billy Crystal, comedian-cum-movie-mogul, doesn't paint himself into corners. He has made a name for himself in movies, "looked marvelous" on tele- vision ("Saturday Night Live," host of the Grammy Awards and Oscar ceremonies) and impressed with his uncanny impres- sions of legendary stars in nightclub acts greeted with acclaim around the country. Mr. Crystal's Jewishness has always been part and parcel of past and present accomplishments, including his taking an HBO special and turning it into a vehicle for a return to his Russian Jewish roots. "Midnight Train to Moscow" won an Emmy Award and two ACE Awards. The concept of tzedakah has been important to Mr. Crystal. He obviously rel- ishes his role as co-host of cable TV's "Comic Relief," which has raised $16 million for the homeless over the years. Perhaps Mr. Crystal feels most at home talking baseball. A diehard fan more accustomed to sporting a Yankees cap than the cowboy hat he wears in City Slickers, Mr. Crystal sounds as if he would drop every- thing for a shot at shortstop. "Tonight I'm meeting Mickey Mantle at a screen- ing of the film," he said in awe, his eyes reflecting a field of dreams that has Mr. Crystal punching out hits not punchlines. Indeed, in City Slickers, Mr. Crystal's character talks about the best day in his life, when he saw Mickey Mantle slam one out. Reel and real life collide. "My best day?" said Mr. Crystal as he smiled. "My fondest memory is my first baseball game — Mantle hit one out, just like in the film... It was May 30, 1956." There's another date Mr. Crystal will probably re- member — the day he came up with the idea for City Slickers. A year-and-a-half ago, the comedian "was watching a TV show about fantasy vaca- tions, and suddenly I had an • Groups Over 10 Excluded • Daily Specials Excluded • Coupon Valid For Entire Table • Present Coupon When Ordering • 15% Gratuity Added To Original Bill • Main Dining Room Only PLEASE, NO EXCEPTIONS TO RULES OF USE.
