Book Beat Gallery
Photography Exhibit
The Book Beat gallery will
begin a series of photography
exhibits entitled, "Women
Photograph Mythology." This
series will explore, through
individual one-person shows
and group invitationals, the
way women portray and
represent their personal and
universal myths through the
use of constructed and
fabricated photographs.
Suda House of San Diego,
opened the series with her
stunning group of
photographs, "Aqueous
Myths." In large fluid color
cibacrome photographs Suda
captures the sensual, fantasy,
and mystic relationship to the
feminine and the water ele-
ment through July 31.
Nina Glaser of San Fran-
cisco will open part two of the
show July 20-Aug. 31 with her
surreal black and white
photographic studies. Nina's
work is a graphic illustration
of the human body and our
bond to the earth. A recently
published book of the Outside
of Time photographs will be
available at the gallery as
signed first, and limited
editions.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m-9
p.m. Monday through Satur-
day, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun-
days. Book Beat is located at
26010 Greenfield, Oak Park.
African Art
Exhibit Set
A book fair and exhibit of
African and African
American art will be held 11
a.m.-4 p.m. July 13 and 14 at
the library of Midwest Labor
Institute, 2641 West Grand
Blvd., Detroit. There is no
charge.
