BBYO Officers
Are Installed

BBYO Regional Presidents
Marc Goldberg of Strauss
AZA and Lisa Goren of Shira
BBG were installed recently
as presidents of the Great
Lakes AZA and BBG Coun-
cils respectively. "Club
BBYO" was the theme of the
installation program. Coor-
dinators of the program and
emcees for the evening were
Carin Rockind of Achayot
BBG and Robert Bronstein of
Posen AZA.
Marc has been a member of
Levi Strauss AZA for three
years and served last year as
council treasurer. He pre-
viously served as chapter
president. This fall he will be
a senior at West Bloomfield
High School.
Lisa has been a member of
Shira BBG for three years
and served last year as coun-
cil outstate vice-president.
She will be a senior at North
Farmington High School this
fall.
Also installed as officers for
the AZA Council were vice
presidents, Jeffrey Gell of
Kishon AZA, Doug Kligman
of L'Chaim AZA, Robert
Bronstein of Posen AZA;
Joshua Berris of Samson
AZA, treasurer; Marshall
Brown of Hart AZA,
secretary; Charles Ornstein
of Kishon AZA, reporter; and
Kevin Miller of Chalutzim
AZA, counselor.
Other BBG Council officers
are vice presidents, Carin
Rockind of Achayot BBG,
Amy Jablin of Shira BBG,
Sari Berman of Radner BBG;
Jennifer Kristall of Shira
BBG, treasurer; Stacy
Glickman of Savage BBG,
secretary; Rachel Hertzberg
of Aliyah BBG, reporter; and
Mara Schonberg of Disraeli
BBG, counselor.

Outstanding Chapters were
also presented. Al Jolson
AZA and Shira BBG were the
recipients. As outgoing presi-
dent of Jolson AZA, Jason
Porth was presented with the
AZA Gavel of Distinction.
Jolson AZA also earned
recognition as the Most Im-

proved AZA Chapter; Zahav
BBG earned the honor for
BBG.
Gen. Maurice Rose AZA
won the International Service
Fund award for Most Donated
for AZA; Shira BBG won for
BBG. Samson AZA won for
Most Donated per Capita for
AZA; Shoshanna BBG won
for BBG. Marshall Brown of
Hart AZA and Dana Salinger
of Shoshanna BBG received
the Minutes Incentive Award.
The Chai Club Award for 18
hours of community service
was presented to Jolson AZA;
the Mitzvah Club Award for
20 hours of community ser-
vice was presented to Shira
BBG and Yachad BBG
(Windsor).
The AZA Council presented
its Most Outstanding
Chapter President Award to
Jason Porth of Jolson AZA
and its Rookie-of-the Year
Award to Jeff Cousens of Sam-
son AZA.
The BBG Council awarded
its Rookie-of-the-Year Award
equally to Jenny Kief and
Carrie Auster of Achayot
BBG. Shoshanna BBG was
the winner of the BBG Scrap-
book Contest; Machar BBG
won the BBG Program-of-the-
Year in creativity and Yachad
BBG (Windsor) won in com-
munity service.
AZA members were
honored by earning the
Shield of David, the highest
individual award that an
AZA member can achieve.
Jeff Gell and Jason Zaks of
Kishon AZA and Robert
Bronstein of Posen AZA won
this award. Several BBG
members earned the Star of
Deborah, the highest in-
dividual award that a BBG
member can achieve. Amy
Braslaw and Eden Collins . of
Glazer BBG; Elise Markowitz
of Disraeli BBG; Deborah
Kovsky of Aliyah BBG; Stacy
Weinberg, Amy Jablin and
Lisa Goren of Shira BBG; and
Stacy Glickman of Savage
BBG were the recipients.
Gold Order awards went to
Debbie Siegel, Rachel Grey
and Julie Litberg of Shira
BBG and Rebecca Cohen of
Shoshanna BBG.

B'nai B'rith Michigan
Regional Council will host
the 13th Annual B'nai B'rith
Family Day 1:30 p.m. July 14
at Tiger Stadium. The Detroit
Tigers will play the Kansas
City Royals.
