Sports Hall Of Fame
Seeks Nominees

The Michigan Jewish
Sports Hall of Fame and The
Jewish News are seeking
nominations for yearly
awards honoring the area's
top male and female Jewish
high school athletes.
Selections will be made by
a panel of area sportswriters,
The Jewish News, and
Michigan Jewish Sports Hall
of Fame board members. The
two winners will be notified
by Labor Day, and will be
honored at the annual Hall of
Fame induction banquet in
November. Each winner will
also receive an attractive pla-
que to be displayed at his or
her school.
The nominees need not par-
ticipate in interscholastic
sports to be eligible; they
must only be students, grades
9-12, competing in recognized
sports, and in good standing
at their school. June 1991
graduates are eligible. An
athlete can win the award on-
ly once.

Adat Shalom Hires
New Youth Director

Polly Eini has been named
Adat Shalom Synagogue
Youth Director, replacing
Miriam Starkman, who has
left the synagogue after three
years to resume full-time
studies for her master's
degree.
Ms. Eini is a graduate of the
University of Judaism in Los
Angeles, where she received
her master's degree in Jewish
education in 1990. Since then
she has served as assistant to
the director of education at
Temple Emanu-El. Ms. Eini
has considerable experience
in Hebrew education, Jewish
education curriculum
development, and family and
youth programming. During
the past year she has also
worked for the JEFF
program.
