Sixth Annual
Southfield Festival
This year's Star Spangled
Southfield Festival, June
26-July 4, will feature many
events at the Southfield Civic
Center.
Hershey Track and
Field/Youth Fitness meet will
be 6 p.m. June 26 at
Southfield High School track.
Children ages 9-14 years
(born during the years
1977-82) can compete in
events. Call 354-9603 for
registration information.
Spirit of America Band will
perform 7-8 p.m. June 26 in
the Burgh Gazebo, Historical
Burgh Site, corner of Berg
Road and Civic Center Drive.
This is the first in a series of
free summer concerts.
Nostalgia Ball will be held
7-10 p.m. June 27 in the
Southfield Civic Center
Pavilion. There is a charge.
Kids Day will be 10 a.m.-4
p.m. June 28 on the South-
field Civic Center Front Lawn
with carnival rides, Mud
Mania (a mud-filled obstacle
course), continuous children's
stage entertainment, demon-
strations by The Flying Aces
professional frisbee team, pet
show sponsored by Hilldale
Veterinary Hospital, story
time with Southfield Cable
8's Uncle Drew, kids' games,
petting zoo, frog-jumping con-
test, clowns, mimes, jugglers,
magicians, refreshments and
free swimming (for Southfield
residents) at the Civic Center
pool. All activities except car-
nival rides are free.
Evening entertainment will
be presented 4-10 p.m. June
28 on the Southfield Civic
Center front lawn.
Teen Night is set for 6-9
p.m. June 28 at the Civic
Center Pool.
A Pre-Mini Grand Prix Par-
ty will be 7-11:30 p.m. June
28 at the Civic Center
Pavilion. The evening will in-
clude music, food and com-
petition as the pit crews for
Saturday's race will perform
during this benefit for the Ar-
thritis Foundation. Admis-
sion will be charged.
A Traditional Country
Dance will be 8-11 p.m. June
28 on the Civic Center Plaza.
