Cantor Gutman
Will Perform

Cantor David Gutman will
present an evening of popular
music, operettas, Yiddish and
Hebrew music, and cantorials
7:30 p.m. June 23 at the Oak
Park Library. Mr. Gutman is
cantor at Congregation Bait
Kodesh in Livonia and per-
forms at the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Jewish Community
Center and for B'nai B'rith.
Cantor Gutman sang for
years with the Civic Light
Opera.
Marlene Nessel will accom-
pany Cantor Gutman on
piano. Ms. Nessel teaches
music for the Detroit Public
Schools and privately.
The Oak Park Library is

Pontiac Symphony
Plans Evening

The Pontiac-Oakland Sym-
phony will present a Sym-
phonic Salute, 5 p.m. June 25
at Industry nightclub for the
honorary co-chairmen of the
"Evening with Aretha!"
benefit concert.
The salute will begin with
a Pontiac-Oakland Symphony
(POS) ensemble performing
chamber music. For the dan-
cing crowd, a disc jockey will
spin popular tunes in the
main area of the club. For jazz
lovers, Alexander Zonjic will
entertain from 7-10 p.m.
There will be a donation at
the door to benefit the
Pontiac-Oakland Symphony.
