But her real "job" is the hours she spends volunteer- ing. Because since she arriv- ed in Detroit, she's done just about everything one person can do. "She has been active in many Jewish organizations and has been a leader of those organizations," said Council executive director David Gad-Harf. "She's a grassroots type of president, very sensitive to the needs and concerns of the various Jewish organizations. Ms. Weiner called herself an activist by orientation. She said that she hopes to "infect" her board with that spirit of activism." Concerning her work in Arab-Jewish relations lo- cally, Ms. Weiner said there's a real need to im- prove these contacts bet- ween the two groups.
