Israel Missions
Increase ilravel

Forty Detroiters have sign-
ed up for the Hatikvah Na-
tional Singles Mission July
7-18. Another 200 have ex-
pressed interest in the Oc-
tober Mission to Spain and
Israel, to commemorate the
Golden Age of Jewish Spain
and the 500 years after the
Dispersion.
In addition, 11 families will
be on the Federation/UJA
Summer Family Missions,
which offer complete pro-
gramming for families with
children age 7 and above:
June 23-July 3; June 30-July
10; and July 28-Aug. 7.
Before going to Israel, par-
ticipants in the Oct. 3-13
Spain-Israel Mission will
have the option to explore the
art, poetry and music of
Spain's once-vibrant Jewish
community and visit the bir-
thplaces of Jewish scholars.
The fall mission is open to
contributors of $2,500 and
over to the AJCampaign.
Participants in all missions
will have the opportunity to
visit sites of Jewish interest
and meet with Israelis, hear
about Operations Exodus and
Solomon and participate in a
variety of social and cultural
activities.
In addition to visiting
Allied Jewish Campaign-
supported programs, such as
absorption centers and Youth
Aliyah villages, mission-goers
will see the country, meet
with Israelis and participate
in a variety of social and
cultural activities.
Participants also will meet
representatives of the Israel
Defense Forces and govern-
ment officials and visit
Detroit's Project sister city of
Yavne.
For information about these
missions, call Tom Wexelberg-
Clouser, 965-3939, Ext. 121.
