HOWARD GARY SMITH,

from Wayne State University
school of medicine. Howard
received the Distinction in
Biomedical Research Award
for excellence in research and
scholarship. He will begin a
residency in surgery at In-
diana University Medical
Center, Indianapolis.

ALAN WORONOFF, son of

of West Bloomfield, received
the Dr. Morris S. Brent
Award, presented by the
Wayne State University
school of medicine alumni
association. This is the first
year this award was made to
a student with outstanding
academic performance and
who has made a substantial
