pher Linda Solomon
has a photo exhibit,
"An Evening At the Oscars,"
at Bloomingdales in New
York through June 14. Many
Detroiters and former
Detroiters attended the open-
ing event of the 1991 Oscar
photo exhibition, which in-
cluded the presenters and
winners.

covering the Academy
Awards for the last 10 years
and was recently named the
national spokesperson for
the camera industry. Accor-
ding to Mrs. Solomon this
year's Oscar highlights were
Sophia Loren and Kevin
Costner.
"The comment this year
was lots of glamour," Mrs.
Solomon said.

this project on their own.
They studied outside of the
classroom," said principal

Rabbi Samuel Cohen.
Peshi Zentman, president
of the student council, said
the girls heard about this
project from another school
in New York. "Everyone
was enthusiastic. It gives
the feeling of unity since
everyone agreed to do it un-
til the finish."
"The girls are demon-
strating their love for Torah
and their love for learning,"
said Rabbi Cohen.

The Sally Allan Alexander
Bais Yaakov High School re-
cently had a celebration
honoring 80 students on
their completion of studying
the five books of Moses. The
project began after Passover
and was completed by
Shavout. The students
divided into groups of two
with each group learning
130 sentences and the inter-
pretations of Rashi.

The League of Jewish
Women's Organizations of
Greater Detroit held their
annual installation at Tem-
ple Emanu-El, featuring a
musical program with
Barry Ulrych. Outgoing
president Jeannie Weiner
had about four days to relax
before she became president
of the Jewish Community
Council.
