Our Mission The Jewish Community Council provides the leadership for the community relations activities of the metropolitan Jewish community. In carrying out this task, it speaks for that community, initiates programs, seeks opportunities for collaboration with other religious and ethnic communities and coordinates activities for its 270 member organizations that represent the principal segments of the Jewish community. from Our Executive Director As Paul describes in his message and as outlined in more detail in this report, the 1990-91 year was full of important activities on the many fronts of Jewish community relations. These accomplishments reflected and required a spirit of teamwork encompassing the board, committees, staff and the organizations that comprise the Council. It has been a joy to have Paul D. Borman as my first president in Detroit. These past three years have been years of heightened impact and visibility for Council, within and outside of the Jewish community. This is due in large measure to our good fortune in having Paul at the helm. I'm sure the coming years will be no less exciting and challenging. I look forward to working with our new president, Jeannie Weiner, and you to address the many issues on our agenda. David Gad-Harf Executive Director
