brother and a 4.4 student —
and senior infielder Jeff Katz.
Cranbrook senior Matthew
Maister, a third-year varsity
player, is a pitcher and center-
fielder as well as a team cap-
tain. On the mount he had a
1.57 ERA. "He's a smart pit-
cher," said coach Chris Mar-
tin. "He doesn't overpower
hitters but he has good con-
trol. He's a competitor."
At the plate, Maister was
hitting .395 through 11
games, with a team-leading
12 stolen bases.
Starting rightfielder David
Peisner hits seventh and
posted a .273 average through
11 games.
Senior Michael Hauser
starts at first base and hits
eighth or ninth in the batting
order.

Jay Robinson was appointed
Masters Track and Field
Chairman for the 14th World
Maccabiah Games. The U.S.
Maccabiah Team, sponsored
by the United States Commit-
tee Sports for Israel, will corn-
pete at the World Maccabiah
Games, June 26-July 15,
1993.
Held in Israel every four
years, the Maccabiah brings
Jewish athletes from around
the world together for
Olympic-style competition. In
1989, more than 4,500
athletes from 43 countries
participated in the two-week
competition.
A USCSFI board member,
Mr. Robinson, a builder for
Beacon Hill Construction,
was previously a manager of
the Juniors in the 1985 Mac-
cabiah Games and also serv-
ed as general chairman of the
1984 and 1990 JCC's North
American Maccabi Youth
Games. He decided to corn-
pete in the 1987 Pan Am Mac-
cabi Games, winning a bronze
medal in the half marathon.
