Annual Meeting

Marcy Feldman will be in-
stalled as president of Reset-
tlement Service at the annual
meeting June 13 at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek.

president, will be honored.
Ms. Feldman, formerly vice
president of Resettlement
Service, has been a board
member for 11 years. She is a
member of community
organizations including the
board of governors of Jewish
Welfare Federation, the ex-
ecutive committee of Women's
Division, board member of
the Jewish Community
Center, co-chairman of the
Leadership Continuum for
the Leadership Development
Committee of J.W.F., the
Resettlement Committee and
the Endowment Committee of
J.W.F., and the United Jewish
Appeal Regional Campaign
Cabinet.
Other officers to be install-

president; Jeannie Weiner,
treasurer; and Milton
Zussman, secretary.
The meeting will begin
with a Russian Buffet at 5:15

Tay-Sachs Test
At Sinai Hospital

A Tay-Sachs screening will
be offered 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June
2 at Sinai Hospital. The
testing is sponsored by Sinai's
department of Obstetrics/Gy-
necology, the Sinai Hospital
Guild and the Jolson AZA
Chapter of the Michigan
Region B'nai B'rith Youth
Organization.
The $15 screening will be
performed by Sinai staff in
the hospital's Outer Drive
Lobby.
Tay-Sachs is a rare genetic
disease that a child inherits
from both parents which
causes progressive destruc-
tion of the central nervous
system and death by 5 years
of age. There is no cure for
Tay-Sachs disease. Most car-
riers are Jews of Eastern
European descent.
Couples who are both car-
riers of the Tay-Sachs gene
can still have healthy
children. Statistically, one-
half of their off-spring will be
carriers but not have the
disease themselves. One-
quarter will be completely
unaffected, and one-quarter
will have the Tay-Bach
disease. No appointments are
necessary for the June 2
screening.

cross between two classics: traditional rugby shorts and loose-
fitting swim trunks. The material is a cotton/Supplex® nylon bi-
blend that dries quickly. The shorts have wide
legs for a full range of motion, an elasticized
waist with drawstring, a nylon tricot inner
brief, two deep on-seam side pockets and
a rear hip pocket that snaps shut.
