selected from among the
other carriers for their
superior products and
services.
In a recent statement, US
Sprint indicated that they
estimate that the UTAC pro-
gram will generate over $100
million of annual revenue.
Yad L'Achim, an organiza-
tion engaged in the settle-
ment of immigrants to Israel
for over 40 years, is one of the
founding organizations of
UTAC. Yad L'Achim, as a
founder of the UTAC pro-
gram, assists other not-for-
profits in joining UTAC, and
in utilizing the program to
benefit their organizations,
and in marketing the services
to their donors and
supporters.
The not-for-profit organiza-
tion that signs up an end-user
earns a commission from
Sprint each time that end-
user makes a long-distance
call. These commissions will
become "an ongoing monthly
revenue stream for not-for-
profit and other charitable
organizations," says Pesach
Lerner, Director of Special
Projects for Yad L'Achim.
Commissions range from a
minimum of 4 percent to a
high of 10 percent!
"These are lean '90s and
not-for-profits are suffering,"
Mr. Lerner says. "UTAC's ap-
proach is to ensure the future
of not-for-profits with an in-
novative entrepreneurial ap-
proach. The program is
economically sound and
doesn't cost the donors a dime.
"A steady stream of income
is a boon to any not-for-profit
and the donors will certainly
enjoy receiving quality ser-
vices and special discounts.
The donors feel that their
favorite organization or chari-
ty is 'looking out for them? "
