A Alum DAVID ROSENMAN'S Asia PINIKHASERS NEW & USED CAR BROKER (313) 851-CARS (313) 851-2277 12 FRIDAY, MAY 24, 1991 There is no place for this sort of thing. Convinced? Probably not. So if this is okay, maybe we should come up with some other sayings along the lines of "Born To Shop." Why not put bumper stickers on our cars that say, "Kiss Me, I Have A Jewish Nose" with a Magen David in the word nose. Or a sweatshirt that reads, "I don't pay retail, I'm a Jew." That's a cute one. We should be offended if we see a slogan with a black person on a shirt with the saying "Born To Steal" or "Born To Play Basketball." How about a Polish shirt that says, "Born To Be Stupid." No. This is not what good people want to do. My idea of cute may be your idea of offensive. But if I'm selling cute to the public, I want to make sure that no one is offended. "Born To Shop" is probably pretty tame to most people, even Jews. But to a people that sometimes gets too comfortable with its American assimilation just 50 years after six million of its best and brightest were murdered, "Born To Shop" with Jewish stars or anything like it is anything but cute. But the sad thing here, is that the "Born To Shop" T- shirt was not sold in a Chris- tian or a secular shop. It was in a Jewish one. ❑ Ref. 479.99 SALE ENDS TUESDAY, JUNE 4, 1991 AT 9PM • HOURS: MON-FRI 10AM-9PM • SUN 10AM-5PM In F&M Plaza • Southfield Rd. at 12 Mile Rd. 1 mile north of 1-696 Continued from Page 7 were found in a Christian bookstore, we would go to great efforts to have it removed.
